Letter from the Under-Secretary-General

Most Esteemed Delegates,
My name is Semiha Zülal Aytekin and I quite have the honor of being the Under Secretary General of the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) in ILERIMUN’24.
As a teenager myself, I believe being aware of global concerns has given me plenty of privilege, and knowing that I improved myself with Model United Nations made me more attached to them. To sum up what I mean, if you are looking for a place to talk about global issues, you are at the right conference!
Lives matter whether they are black or white, Muslim or Christian. Although, sometimes, it can be overlooked, and in times like that SOCHUM takes its place. Today, in our committee, we will be discussing both the Rohingya Crisis in Myanmar and Refugee Trafficking. With the help of your beneficial work and collaboration, I believe we will have the most significant solutions.
